The Hunter Design Group has introduced a new design in handlebar grips that may bring a lot of relief to a lot of us who get the handlbar tingles or that scourge, "sleeping hnad syndrome." According to the company, the Hunter Flatbar is designed to solve the problems of stress and strain associated with ordinary round handlebars. They explained that excessive poressure applied to the median nerve and transverse carpal ligament on the palm of the hand causes numbness and tingling, often aggravated moreso on long rides. The Flatbar allows you to hold it in the curve of the fingers, avoiding contact with the sensitive areas of the hand. The core is solid aluminum and covered with a flexible foam. Designer Ken Hunter claimed to have clocked 158,000 miles with them, hopefully not all at once. Available for a variety of specific models. Price $95.
