We have a solution that reduces the vibrations that contribute to carpal tunnel symptoms. San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) May 4, 2006 -- Hunter FlatBars Announces new products for eliminating the pain and suffering caused by excessive vibrations that keep a lot of people off their bikes. Carpal tunnel symptoms have always been a problem for maturing bikers, but, with wide use of computer keyboards, a much younger crowd is experiencing problems, at a time when a lot of them would like to switch out of their cars and onto a bike, to save gas. Our original design was ergonomically shaped to deal with the issues of the pressures on the median nerve and the carpal tunnel ligament by the traditional round handle grip. The flat shape we devised had added benefit of requiring a less strenuous stretch, which further reduced the stress on the hand, especially important for people with smaller hands. One of our early testers suggested a thumb relief to make our FlatBars even friendly to small hands, so we obliged and ordered up some new molds. Once we started testing the shape, we soon discovered the importance of eliminating vibrations, which sent us back to the lab. We chose a simple grip cover that holds up well and has some built-in cushioning. We then poured over materials catalogues and looked at local manufacturers, until we found the solution to the vibrations at the point of bar to grip contact, in a readily available adhesive backed substance that we ordered as a tape After spending a while on various installation schemes for various bikes and models, we are now confident that we have a workable solution. Our tests showed up to a 70% drop in vibrations between the handlebar and the FlatBar grip. We recently decided to look into other dampening products and materials discovered that wearing gel gloves on the FlatBars can give you an even smoother ride. Our Current product Lineup incudes: FlatBars, Grip Heaters, Leather Gel Gloves, and SupR DampR, for people who want the vibration dampening with the the traditional round handlebars. The Grip Heaters were suggested by numerous clients. We make it a point of letting our customers know their feedback and suggestions are taken seriously. We're open to solving problems when we can. Products under Development: We are working on a handlebar exchange program for Concours Clip-Ons with FlatBars Mounted. Our marketing and sales are developing online, through print ads, and media coverage. Please see a complete list of our reviews and stories on our web site. Send any questions our way. |
